Event Description
Code With GirlScript Bangalore is an initiative by GirlScript Bangalore to help the people explore the Open Source world 👨💻👩💻 and take their first step towards programming and contributing. The program is also ideal to coding enthusiasts who would like to challenge their problem solving skills. This October, we have something exciting 🎁 for the coding enthusiasts as we are celebrating Open Source with Hacktoberfest 2020!! 🥳

Hacktoberfest — brought to you by DigitalOcean in partnership with Dev & Intel — is a month-long celebration of open source software. Maintainers are invited to guide would-be contributors towards issues that will help move the project forward, and contributors get the opportunity to give back to both projects they like and others they've just discovered. No contribution is too small — bug fixes and documentation updates are valid ways of participating.

Rules and Rewards
First, sign up on the Hacktoberfest site at https://hacktoberfest.digitalocean.com. To qualify for the official limited edition Hacktoberfest shirt, you must register and make four pull requests between October 1-31. Pull requests can be to any public repo on GitHub, not just the ones with issues labeled Hacktoberfest. If a maintainer reports your pull request as spam or spammy behavior, or not in line with the project’s code of conduct, you will be ineligible to participate.
Additionally, get a chance to win exciting e-badges from GirlScript Bangalore on contributing to Code with GirlScript Bangalore program repositories 🤩. We at GirlScript Bangalore can’t wait to see your contributions!! 😄

GirlScript Bangalore is the Bangalore chapter of the non profit foundation — GirlScript with the primary goal to help beginners take their first steps in technology. The Bangalore chapter started in the year 2019 with a team of 18 people, including out chapter leaders.
